Effective 1st September 2012 Gloucester Park will be prescribed as a ‘Sports Arena’ under the Liquor Control Regulations 1989, for the purposes of section 110 of the Liquor Control Act 1988.
LIQUOR REGULATIONS
Effective 1st September 2012 Gloucester Park will be prescribed as a ‘Sports Arena’ under the Liquor Control Regulations 1989, for the purposes of section 110 of the Liquor Control Act 1988. This will mean that any person who:
- Brings liquor into the arena;
- Attempts to bring liquor into the arena;
- Has liquor in his or her possession in the arena;
- Consumes liquor in the arena
will commit an offence, if the liquor was not purchased from the arena’s licensed premises.
The maximum penalty for this offence is a fine of $2,000. Being prescribed as a Sports Arena will not affect the current licence conditions at Gloucester Park but will provide the power to confiscate alcohol not purchased on-course.
